Madelia Health Welcomes Patrice Luker
Madelia, Minn. – Madelia Health announces the addition of Patrice Luker to their Clinic Team in Madelia. Luker is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), and she joins Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Nik Krahn, on our Mental Health Care staff.
LMFTs are mental health professionals trained in psychotherapy and family systems, and licensed to diagnose and treat mental and emotional disorders within the context of marriage, couples and family systems. Throughout her career Luker has worked with individuals, couples, and families who are managing life’s stresses, navigating major changes, healing from trauma and loss, developing healthy ways to move forward with decisions and goals, and coping with anxiety, depression, and other mental health diagnoses.
Luker earned her master of science degree in professional counseling from Minnesota State University, Mankato. She has been working in the mental health field since 2007, most recently at New Ulm Medical Center.
“Life is beautiful and messy. Sometimes it takes tremendous courage to show up and do it every day,” said Luker. “I get to witness so many stories and create space for healing that comes through spoken words, laughter that is shared, and tears that are shed. Helping people grow in their understanding of themselves and those around them and then watching how they change is one of the things I love most about my work,” said Luker.
The Minnesota River Valley has always been home for Luker. She grew up in the Montevideo/Granite Falls area and has called New Ulm home for the past 25 years. She loves to say “YES” to adventures and spend lots of time outdoors with family and friends. When she isn’t working, Luker is likely cheering on her kids from the stands, enjoying live music, golfing, hiking, kayaking, traveling, cooking, reading, or listening to podcasts.
