Established in memory of Yoshiko Masters, who devoted 32 years of service to the Madelia Clinic and Hospital as a laboratory technician. Born in Japan, Yoshiko came to the United States in the 1950s to pursue her education and build a life centered on caring for others. Throughout her career, she played an important role in patient care and remained dedicated to Madelia Health through her involvement with the Hospital Auxiliary.

Known for her kindness, dedication, and love of quilting, sewing, baking, and flower gardening, Yoshiko left a lasting impact on both her colleagues and the community she served.

This scholarship honors Yoshiko’s legacy by supporting students pursuing careers in laboratory science and diagnostic imaging while encouraging future healthcare professionals to serve their communities with the same commitment and compassion that defined her life.

Eligibility: Available to Madelia-area students interested in pursuing a degree in Radiology or Laboratory Science. The scholarship is open to both traditional and non-traditional students who have been accepted into a diploma, associate, or bachelor’s degree program at an accredited institution.

Established by Pam and Mike Masters, this scholarship supports students pursuing careers in nursing and nurses seeking advanced education and training.

Following a 40-year nursing career, Pam understands both the rewards and challenges of the profession. While pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, she received scholarship support from her local community hospital, an experience that left a lasting impression. Having experienced the financial stress that often accompanies advanced education, they wanted to help reduce that burden for future nursing students.

A medical mission trip to Africa further reinforced the impact that financial support can have on developing the next generation of healthcare providers, both abroad and within local communities. Inspired by those experiences, this scholarship was meant to encourage and support those answering the call to serve others through nursing.
