Madelia Health is seeking a casual/prn Nurse Practitioner who is interested in providing emergency care services at our Madelia, MN Emergency Department. This NP will provide comprehensive emergency medical care encompassing everything from acute illnesses to complex health issues and traumas in patients of all ages. The NP will work independently as well as collaborate with lead Physicians and consulting with specialists as needed. Madelia Health has a Level 4 Trauma Designation and Acute Stroke Ready Designation. Job Duties:

  • Providing and coordinating medical care for patients presenting to the emergency department and for urgent care services
  • Cross coverage of hospitalized patients required after hours, weekends and based on scheduling needs.
  • Documenting in the patient record
  • Comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, ordering, conducting and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescription of pharmacological agents and patient education.
  • Performs advanced technical procedures including laceration repair, I&D, lumbar puncture, airway stabilization etc.
  • Maintains accurate, legible, and confidential medical records.
  • Clearly communicate with all caregivers, patients and family to ensure safe, high-quality care is provided
  • Focused on patient access as well as patient and family experience.

Job Type: Casual/PRN, rotating days/nights/weekends/holidays, 12-hour shifts

Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience:

  • Masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program
  • Must have 2+ years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in an acute care/emergency department setting.
  • Current Minnesota RN and APRN license (or ability to obtain) and certification as FNP
  • Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certification
  • Current BLS, ACLS, ATLS or CALS, PALS
  • Valid driver’s license

Madelia Health Home Care is seeking an experienced RN to join our team. This RN will manage a client case load, make visits to client homes, assess, plan and implement client care and perform staff supervision. Familiarity with OASIS assessments, 485 composition, coding, care plan design and implementation are required strengths. Effective communication with clients, families, providers, and team members is necessary for this position. This is a field position and working independently with integrity is essential.

Hours: Monday – Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Weekend and on-call coverage in rotation (every 3-5 weeks). Possible weekend visits (in rotation).

Responsibilities:

  • Performs a Comprehensive Assessment according to established policies (including physical, psychosocial and spiritual data) upon admission, as well as ongoing established timeframes.
  • Assesses family and support systems active in the patient’s place of residence.
  • Analyzes assessment data, identifies problems and develops the plan of care in collaboration with the patient, caregivers, and resource personnel.
  • Identifies expected outcomes that are realistic, measurable and attainable.
  • Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to develop an appropriate discharge / health maintenance plan.
  • Assess client’s condition and formulate plan of care to support independent living.
  • Maintain accurate patient medical records in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • Two years of acute or long-term care nursing experience.

  • Current BLS certification or attainment of certification within three months of employment.
  • Current MN driver’s license and insurance.

Preferred:

  • One year of homecare experience

Ward Clerk Responsibilities include:

Madelia Community Hospital & Clinic (MCHC) is looking for trained Emergency Medical Technicians or Emergency Medical Responders to be part of our team. In the EMT role, you will provide basic life support transport care to patients during inter-facility transfers and respond to 911 calls as necessary. This would be an on-call volunteer position with the possibility of picking up paid shifts during weekdays.

Location: Madelia, MN

Wages: On-call during the week is paid a small stipend per hour, with a weekend premium. If called out for a 911 or transfer, the rate is significantly higher depending on your certification.

Online or Conventional training may be available for those who are interested in becoming EMTs and EMRs in exchange for two years of service to the Madelia Ambulance.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain knowledge of, and comply with all relevant laws, regulations and policies, procedures and standards.
  • Assist Advance Life Support staff in emergent and non-emergent responses as needed.
  • Transports patients safely according to clinical and operational guidelines.
