Preparing for Your Stay at Madelia Health

No matter the reason for your stay, always bring the following with you:
• Your driver’s license
• Your insurance ID card, if you have one
• Your medication bottles, along with any supplements and vitamins you take

You are welcome to bring the following for your hospital stay:
• An iPad, laptop or personal electronic device (wireless)
• Toiletries, C-PAP or other sleeping devices, make-up, etc.
• Personal comfort items, like books, puzzles, blankets, stuffed animals, etc.

Visitor Hours – COVID Visitor Restrictions

Visiting Hours are from 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Your friends and family are normally welcome to visit, but they should stay home if they are sick. For safety, Madelia Health locks the doors on Drew Avenue at 6 p.m. daily. After 6 p.m., a doorbell is available for your guests to ring, and a nurse will escort them to your room.

Meals are served at the following times: Breakfast at 7:30 a.m., Lunch at 11:30 a.m., Supper at 5:30 p.m. Guest meals are available from our kitchen, please contact nursing to coordinate.

All patient rooms are equipped with a “Smart” television and telephones for outside calls. To make a local call, just dial the appropriate number with area code. Personal cell phones should be used to make long distance calls unless advised otherwise by your health care team.

An iPad is also available for hospital patients’ use. If interested, ask a nurse if it is available for use.

WiFi internet access is available for patients and visitors free of charge. To use this service you will need to connect to the “Madelia Health Guest” wireless network. You will then be greeted by an Acceptable Use Policy screen. Click on the “Continue to Internet” button. This will take you to the Madelia Health website and enable online access. No password is needed.

You have a right to a medical interpreter at no cost to you. Please let us know when you are scheduling an appointment if you would like to have an interpreter service available during your visit. We have access to interpreting services for over 200 languages including American Sign Language.

Committed to the health of our patients, visitors and staff, tobacco or E-Cigarette (vaping) use is not permitted on campus.
