Orthopedic Surgeon at Madelia Health

Madelia, Minn. – Madelia Health announces the addition of Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Anthony Nwakama to our growing list of visiting specialty providers. Nwakama has specialized in orthopedics for over 20 years and is certified with the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery Association. He is an active member of the Arthroscopic Association of North America and a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeries.

Nwakama is a graduate of the Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Medicine located in Rochester. He practices full time at Southwest Minnesota Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, Inc. in Marshall, Minn. and performs over a hundred artificial joint replacements each year using advanced and minimally invasive techniques. Nwakama is highly skilled in the treatment of sports injuries, total joint replacements, tendon repairs, and fracture fixations too, and has done hundreds of arthroscopic repairs related to sports injuries and other problems of the knee, shoulder, wrist, hip, elbow, and ankle.

Nwakama has lived in the Marshall area with his wife and six children, for over 15 years. He will provide quality care to patients in the Madelia area, so they can avoid traveling out of town for orthopedic appointments and surgery. He will be seeing patients twice a month at Madelia Health.
