Obstetrics/Gynecologist seeing Patients at MCHC
Dr. Ashleigh Swearingen, a certified OB/GYN is now seeing patients at the Madelia Community Hospital & Clinic (MCHC) on Mondays. Dr. Swearingen has a special interest in the management of abnormal pap smears, infertility, adolescent exams, irregular menstrual cycles, normal and high-risk pregnancies, family planning and contraception, menopause and perimenopause, and minimally invasive surgeries. Dr. Swearingen is fluent in Spanish. “
An OB/GYN provides care for women during some of the most vulnerable times in their lives,” said Clinic Manager, Cindy Lehman, RN. “We are excited to bring Dr. Swearingen to Madelia so we can offer these services close to home. Dr. Swearingen’s interests and abilities will fit in well here.”
Dr. Swearingen’s hometown is Grayslake, Illinois. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois – Urbana Champaign, and her medical degree and residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in Chicago. She believes in empowering women through evidence-based medicine and education so that each woman has the ability to make the best decision for herself. She also believes it is a privilege to walk alongside patients on their journey to wellness.
“Women have a remarkable role in society,” said Dr. Swearingen. “They often influence the health care choices of their children, partners, parents and friends. Time spent encouraging and empowering one woman not only allows her to serve herself but will influence the community in a perpetuating manner.”
