MH to Operate Amberfield Place Senior Living Apartments
Madelia, Minn. – Madelia Health (MH) announced this week that they will be taking over the ownership and operation of the Amberfield Senior Living Apartment complex that is attached to their facility in Madelia. The space is currently owned by South Central Multi-County Housing and Redevelopment Authority and managed by Great Lakes Management. The transition to MH will begin on March 1st, 2023.
MH will continue to provide independent living services for the residents. The MH Dietary Department will continue to provide residents with nutritious meals. Many of the tenants utilize the services of the MH Home Care Department; this department will take over most Resident Care needs at the facility. Facility maintenance will also transition to the MH staff.
Amberfield senior living apartments were built in 1993 and financed through a United States Housing and Urban Development (HUD) 30-year loan program. The contract was written so that Madelia Community Hospital, Inc. (now Madelia Health) would have the option to take over payments and purchase the facility within 30 years.
“Our intention is to continue to offer a great place to live, laugh and thrive as this is not only a facility, it is home to many. Our caregivers are excited to enhance and increase the resident’s access to all of our services,” said David Walz, Chief Executive Officer. “We look forward to the future growth and expansion into this facility.”
