MCHC Assumes Ownership/Operations of Lake Crystal Clinic
The Madelia Community Hospital & Clinic (MCHC) will be assuming ownership and operations of the Lake Crystal Clinic beginning August 1st, 2020, under an expanded partnership with the Mankato Clinic. The facility will be renamed to Madelia Community Hospital & Clinic – Lake Crystal to reflect this new ownership. We are working together to make this a seamless transition for all of our patients.
As previously announced, Dr. Kirk Odden has decided to retire from his Lake Crystal practice effective July 31. Dr. Marc Wilkinson will split his practice between Lake Crystal Clinic and MCHC beginning August 3rd. As a member of the Mankato Clinic and MCHC medical staff, and a resident of Lake Crystal, Dr. Wilkinson is looking forward to expanding his practice to the MCHC Lake Crystal Clinic. He enjoys seeing and treating patients of all ages from children to older adults. MCHC has initiated recruitment for another full-time provider in addition to Dr. Wilkinson.
“MCHC will continue to offer high quality health care in Lake Crystal,” said Jeff Mengenhausen, CEO of MCHC. “We recently opened the Lake Crystal Pharmacy just a block from the Clinic, so patients can get their primary care needs met and their prescriptions filled without even leaving town.”
Lake Crystal providers will see patients of all ages, from children to older adults. They will care for acute illnesses and minor injuries, chronic disease and medication management, immunizations, well-child care, sports physicals, adult physicals and preventive health care. Dr. Wilkinson will also do inpatient visits for residents of Crystal Seasons in Lake Crystal. Some laboratory tests and services will be offered on-site.
MCHC was recently awarded one of the Top 20 Hospitals in the country for their patient experience. In June they opened a pharmacy on Lake Crystal’s Main Street and have a physical therapy office in the Lake Crystal Area Recreation Center. MCHC can also offer Lake Crystal patients the convenience of a full-service hospital with lab, radiology and surgery services just down the road in Madelia.
