Madelia Health to Open Truman Clinic
Madelia Health has signed a five-year lease with the City of Truman to open the Truman Clinic later this year. The clinic is attached to Heartland Senior Living.
“Madelia Health will offer high quality health care in Truman five days a week,” said Jeff Mengenhausen, CEO of Madelia Health. “Our success in Lake Crystal and Madelia has enabled us to expand our services to another rural community. We understand the importance of having primary health care services right in town.”
Madelia Health has initiated recruitment for a full-time nurse practitioner to work at the Truman Clinic. This provider will see patients of all ages, from children to older adults including residents of Heartland Senior Living. Care will be provided for acute illnesses and minor injuries, chronic disease and medication management, immunizations, well-child care, sports physicals, adult physicals and preventive health care. Some laboratory tests and services will be offered in Truman, and some pharmacy services may also be available. Madelia Health also plans to expand their Home Health Care services that are already offered in the area. A full-time registered nurse, receptionist and part-time housekeeper will also be hired to staff the clinic.
For the second year in a row, Madelia Health was awarded one of the Top 20 Hospitals in the country by the National Rural Health Association (NRHA) for Patient Experience. Madelia Health also operates a pharmacy, clinic and physical therapy office in Lake Crystal, as well as a full-service hospital with lab, radiology, physical therapy and surgery services just down the road in Madelia.
“We are excited to expand our health care services to the City of Truman, and look forward to getting to see patients at Madelia Health – Truman Clinic,” said Mengenhausen.
