Madelia Health Foundation Awards Scholarships
Madelia, Minn. – The Madelia Health (MH) Foundation has awarded three scholarships to area students who are pursuing degrees in health care. All MH Foundation scholarships are renewable, providing multi-year support to area students.
The Pam Masters Nursing Scholarship has been awarded to Danielle Burnham. This $1,000 scholarship is awarded each year to a Madelia-area student or individual who is interested in pursuing education or advanced education in nursing. Funding for the scholarship was provided by a donation to the Madelia Health Foundation from Pam and Michael Masters. Danielle is a Certified Medical Assistant and has worked at Madelia Health since 2014. She is currently enrolled in the Associate of Nursing program at Rasmussen University, Mankato Campus. Danielle began her advanced coursework to become an RN in 2021.
The Yoshiko Masters scholarship has been awarded to Kaitlyn Kirchner. This $1,000 scholarship is awarded each year to a Madelia-area student who is interested in pursuing education or training in radiology or laboratory science. Funding for the scholarship was provided by a donation to the Madelia Health Foundation from Pam and Michael Masters, in memory of Yoshiko Masters, a former Madelia Health laboratory employee. Kaitlyn will be attending the University of South Dakota pursuing her degree in Medical Biology.
The MH Foundation Health Care Scholarship for Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial was awarded to Lillian Graupman. Lillian will be attending South Dakota State University pursuing her Registered Nursing degree. This $500 scholarship is awarded each year to a Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial high school student who is pursuing a career in health care.
There were no applicants this year for the Madelia High School Health Care Scholarship.
We are very excited to award these scholarships to these deserving students. We hope these scholarships will inspire and encourage students to dedicate their lives to helping others.
Health care scholarships are made possible through generous donations from the community and faithful MH supporters. The scholarships are offered annually to demonstrate our commitment to local health care and our youth.
