Foundation Forum Planned

The Madelia Community Hospital Foundation is hosting a free educational event featuring Attorney Margaret Koberoski, Financial Advisor Kevin Sanger, and Social Worker Glenda Becthold. This Foundation Forum will be held on Thursday, September 12th in the Amberfield Dining Room from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Please come and enjoy coffee and dessert while you learn important information about planning for your future.

Margaret Koberoski: Establishing a Legacy with Estate Planning
Koberoski will offer insight into the benefits of charitable giving in the context of tax and estate planning. Items of discussion will include charitable planning for farm clients who are moving into retirement, utilizing beneficiary designations to make charitable gifts at death, and how specific charitable bequests within an estate plan can establish directed gifts. Charitable giving can have a significant impact within the local community. By establishing a legacy gift, the donor is helping to benefit future generations. Koberoski is the principal attorney at Koberoski Law, a practice with offices in Madelia and Mankato.

Kevin Sanger: Five Fundamentals of Wealth Management
Sanger will discuss five fundamentals of successful wealth management: establishing a financial safety net, putting time on your side, minimizing income taxes, applying strategies designed to help reduce risk and enhance potential return, and matching your portfolio to your personal profile. Sanger is a financial advisor with Securian Advisors MidAmerica, Inc.

Glenda Becthold: Advance Directives – Making Your Wishes Known
Becthold will present information on the necessity of establishing advance directives. Topics will include living will, health care proxy, durable power of attorney, and physician order of life sustaining treatment, and the importance of talking about your wishes with family members and health care professionals. Glenda Becthold is the Social Worker for Madelia Community Hospital & Clinic.

These three knowledgeable speakers will offer important information for all in attendance. It will be especially interesting for those approaching retirement or in retirement, financial planners, insurance professionals and CPAs
