Madelia, Minn. – The winner of the Caregiver of the month in July at Madelia Health was Anna Engeman. Anna is the Home Care Assistant and has worked at Madelia Health since March of 2022. She was nominated by Roz Snyder, Chief Clinical Officer, and Crystal Suiter, HR/Marketing Specialist.
Roz stated, “Anna has an amazingly positive attitude! I am constantly hearing from peers/leaders/patients that you are such a joy to be around. We are glad you are here.” Crystal stated, “Anna is awesome because of her positive attitude & willingness to help out with the employee engagement committee! Thank you!”
Anna grew up in Nicollet. She is married to Jordan, and her family consists of daughter Adalyn (7), and sons Troy (4), and Carter, 2. Anna and Jordan lived in Hawaii for three years while Jordan was in the Army. Their two oldest children got to explore island life. “Hawaii is such a beautiful state, and we wished our time on the island didn’t have to end,” said Anna.
When asked what she liked the most about working at Madelia Health, Anna said, “I love the small-town atmosphere, and seeing familiar faces daily. My work family at Home Care is awesome and that makes my job that much more enjoyable.”
The winner of the Caregiver of the month in August was Don Smith. Don has been working at Madelia Health in the Maintenance Department since September, 2020. He was actually nominated six times by various caregivers in different departments this month! Don is just a fabulous helper and we are so blessed to have him as a co-worker. He helps out wherever and whenever he is needed, and goes above and beyond every day at Madelia Health.
Don grew up in Madelia and is a Madelia High School graduate. He is very active in the community. Don’s family includes his wife, Megan, sons Judson and Russell, daughters Anna and Elie, and granddaughter, Lainie. His favorite past time is golfing, camping, driving his “old” truck, and spending time with his family and friends.
When asked what he likes the most about working at Madelia Health, Don stated, “The people I work with are supportive, encouraging and grateful.”
Madelia Health staff members are encouraged to recognize their co-workers with SHOUT-OUTS for doing exemplary work, going above and beyond for our patients and coworkers, or just being a positive person to work with. All nominees receive a treat in recognition of their SHOUT-OUT. At the end of each month the names of the SHOUT-OUT recipients are put in a drawing for the Caregiver of the Month. The winner receives a gift card plus the honor of parking in the Caregiver of the Month parking spot. At the end of the year, the caregiver who has the most SHOUT-OUTS will be the Employee of the Year for Madelia Health.
