April SHOUT-OUTS

The winner of the Caregiver of the month in April at Madelia Health was Dona Rehome. Dona is the Marketing Director/Grant Writer and has worked at Madelia Health since 2012. She was nominated by coworkers Sara Schauer, Foundation Director and Jamie Hitchcock, Physical Therapy Director.

Sara stated: “Dona was a big help in planning our Ambulance Open House event. She took photos, spent time with our donors and represented Madelia Health with pride! Thank you!” Jamie stated: “Dona did a great job getting the Strength & Conditioning classes up and running on our website. She also converted a video to be used on Facebook.”

Dona lives in North Mankato with her husband and two small dogs, and they have two grown daughters. She grew up on a farm near Minneota, which has helped her to understand the dynamics of small-town life, and the need for rural health care. She has a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications-Public Relations, from Mankato State University. When asked what she liked the most about her job at Madelia Health, Dona said, “I have the joy of working with fabulous people every day and promoting a facility that I truly believe in. My position offers so much variety that I am constantly challenged and learning.”

Madelia Health staff members are encouraged to recognize their co-workers with SHOUT-OUTS for doing exemplary work, going above and beyond for our patients and coworkers, or just being a positive person to work with. In April there were 59 SHOUT-OUTS! All nominees receive a treat in recognition of their SHOUT-OUT. At the end of each month the names of the SHOUT-OUT recipients are put in a drawing for the Caregiver of the Month. The winner receives a gift card plus the honor of parking in the Caregiver of the Month parking spot. At the end of the year, the caregiver who has the most SHOUT-OUTS will be the Employee of the Year for Madelia Health.
