Madelia Health Celebrates First Anniversary of Behavioral Health Services
MADELIA, MN – On August 5th, Madelia Health will proudly celebrate the one-year anniversary of its Behavioral Health Department, marking a significant milestone in delivering compassionate, community-focused mental health care. Since opening in the summer of 2024, Madelia Health’s mental health practitioners have served hundreds of individuals and families across all age groups. Embracing comprehensive healthcare is critical to Madelia Health’s mission, and their expansion of services over the past year addresses the growing need for accessible mental health care in south-central Minnesota.
“Mental health is just as important as physical health, today and every day,” said David Walz, CEO of Madelia Health. “In one year, we’ve built a trusted team that provides mental health evaluations, therapy, medication management, and early childhood support in a compassionate and non-judgmental environment.”
Mental health struggles can impact anyone. It is okay to not be okay, and there is help available. Madelia Health’s mental health providers function as members of a team, and benefit from being part of a health care facility that includes primary care clinics, a specialty clinic, and a hospital with a 24/7 emergency department. This collaborative environment offers patients with the reassurance that their mental health needs will be met in the context of a “whole person” perspective. Community education and outreach campaigns are also underway to reduce stigma, raise awareness of available services, and ensure individuals know where and how to seek help.
“We are deeply thankful for the trust placed in our team—patients, families, caregivers, and community partners alike,” said Walz. “Our first year has reinforced the need for accessible, compassionate mental health care here at home. We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished and excited for what’s ahead.”
