Madelia Health Golf Tournament Best on Record
MADELIA, MN – The Madelia Health Foundation 20th Annual Golf Outing was held on Tuesday, June 10th at the St. James Golf Course. There were 86 golfers on the course in support of Madelia Health at our first ever 18-hole tournament. The golf outing raised over $33,000 – an all-time high for this event! Proceeds from the event will be used to upgrade x-ray equipment, supporting Madelia Health’s mission of ensuring access to quality healthcare close to home.
American Family Insurance – Brian McCabe Agency, Christensen communications Company, MN River Valley Title & Abstracting, Pioneer Bank, R1 RCM Inc., USI Insurance, and Design Home Center were Fore Sponsors. Preferred Printing was the Cart Sponsor for the event. There were 14-hole sponsors, and over 20 volunteers from the Madelia Health Governing Board, Foundation Board, caregivers and the community. The day included 18 holes of golf, hole-in-one and flag contests, a golf ball role contest, prize raffle and dinner.
The Golden Bedpan Golf Ball Roll started off the event and was sponsored by Christensen Communications Company. Bill McMullen was the winner of the $500 prize! The Mystery Club Game was a crowd favorite, featuring left-handed junior clubs, a kiddie driver, and a wooden driver. The Hole-In-One challenge sponsored by Madelia Ford had two close calls, but no winners this year. Matt Cone from Team Culligan landed his shot just 2’11” from the hole, winning half the pot.
The Foundation awarded cash prizes for the first, ninth, and sixteenth place teams. The First Place Team was Living Meadows, ninth place was Brandon Miller’s team sponsored by AssuredPartners & R1, and 16th place was Birdie Juice from Madelia Health.
Thank you to the many businesses and individuals who donated to make this event successful! It was a fantastic day on the course with humor, great weather, camaraderie and impressive golf.
