Madelia Health is seeking a knowledgeable and forward-thinking Director of Finance to join our leadership team. The Director of Finance will provide oversight of all financial operations, guide financial strategy, and ensure the organization’s continued financial health in support of Madelia Health’s mission of delivering patient-centered healthcare with excellence in quality, service, and access.

This position is a key advisor to the CEO and works closely with senior leaders and the Board of Directors to ensure financial sustainability, regulatory compliance, and strategic growth for Madelia Health.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, revenue cycle, investments, and reporting.

  • Partner with the CEO and Board of Directors in planning, evaluating, and implementing organizational initiatives.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including Medicare and Medicaid requirements.

  • Develop and implement financial strategies that support long-term growth and sustainability.

  • Prepare timely and accurate financial reports for leadership and Board decision-making.

  • Oversee internal controls, audits, and risk management processes.

  • Lead and mentor the finance team, including Patient Accounts, Controller, Admissions/Reception, HR/Payroll, and IT.

  • Provide financial input on contracts, partnerships, and strategic initiatives.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and staff professional development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management, Accounting, Finance, or related field required; equivalent experience considered.

  • Minimum of five years of healthcare financial administration experience preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of Medicare cost reporting, Critical Access Hospital regulations, and nonprofit healthcare finance practices.

  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

What You’ll Do

  • Clean and service assigned areas within the hospital and clinic.

  • Follow infection control, isolation, and safety procedures.

  • Complete daily checklists to ensure quality standards are met.

  • Assist with laundry duties when needed.

  • Participate in ongoing training and team in-services.

What We’re Looking For

  • No high school diploma required, but must be able to read and follow written instructions.

Position Overview

As a Medical Technologist/Technician, you will play a critical role in specimen processing, test performance, and accurate reporting of lab results. You’ll contribute to the overall quality and efficiency of laboratory operations while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards in a team-based environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform specimen processing, test analysis, and result reporting in accordance with laboratory protocols.

  • Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to quality control policies.

  • Identify and troubleshoot issues affecting test performance, escalating concerns as needed.

  • Maintain compliance with CLIA, TJC, and federal laboratory regulations.

  • Support ongoing quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.

  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure continuity of care.

  • Monitor and manage laboratory supplies and inventory.

Education & Qualifications

Required Education (must meet one of the following):

  • Associate degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.

  • Equivalent education/training including:

    • 60 semester hours from an accredited institution, including:

      • 24 semester hours in medical laboratory technology and science courses:

        • 6 semester hours in chemistry

        • 6 semester hours in biology

        • 12 additional hours in chemistry, biology, or medical technology

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, biological, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution.

Training (must meet one of the following):

  • Completion of a clinical laboratory training program accredited by an HHS-approved organization.

  • At least 3 months of documented training in high-complexity testing for each specialty performed.

Certifications

  • Must be certified by one of the following: ASCP, HEW, HHS, AMT

  • New graduates must be eligible and obtain certification within one year of employment

  • Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire

Experience

  • Completion of a clinical laboratory training program OR

  • Minimum of 3 months documented lab training in high-complexity testing

  • 2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting preferred

Background study and pre-employment drug testing required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain the sterile surgical field before and during procedures.

  • Handle surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies to support the surgical team.

  • Assist the surgeon during procedures, ensuring patient safety and efficiency.

  • Perform accurate counts of instruments, sponges, needles, and blades.

  • Clean, sterilize, and assemble surgical instruments and equipment.

  • Assist with operating room turnover and restocking of sterile supplies.

  • Provide high-quality patient care and uphold infection control standards.

  • Collaborate with the OR team to ensure smooth surgical operations.

Qualifications

  • Current Minnesota Licensure/Certification as a Scrub Tech.

  • Minimum 2 years of Scrub or Surgical Tech experience preferred.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
