Madelia Health Foundation Renames Healthcare Scholarship in Honor of Janet Dysthe
MADELIA, MN – The Madelia Health Foundation is proud to announce the renaming of its healthcare scholarship to the Janet Dysthe Memorial Health Care Scholarship, honoring the life and legacy of Janet Dysthe, a dedicated registered nurse who served Madelia Health for more than 50 years. Throughout her career, Janet cared for generations of patients and families with compassion, professionalism, and kindness. Her commitment to healthcare extended beyond retirement through volunteer service and her involvement with the Tranquility Garden. She was known for her genuine kindness, lasting friendships, and unwavering dedication to caring for others.
The scholarship bears her name in recognition of the profound impact she made on Madelia Health and the surrounding community. The renaming was made possible through a generous donation from the Dysthe family, ensuring support for future healthcare professionals while honoring Janet’s memory. By supporting students pursuing careers in healthcare, the scholarship aims to inspire future caregivers to follow Janet example of service, compassion, and commitment to others. The Janet Dysthe Memorial Health Care Scholarship is a renewable $500 scholarship available to Madelia-area students pursuing a healthcare-related diploma or degree through an accredited trade, associate, or bachelor’s program.
