Lost Sanity Brewery Pours Support for Local Causes at Park Days
Madelia, MN — Lost Sanity Brewery put community front and center during this year’s Park Days celebration with its Beer-for-a-Cause initiative. For every beer poured, $1 was donated to a local nonprofit—made possible by volunteer teams who helped with the event each day.
Doug & Caleb Fenske, co-owners of Lost Sanity Brewery, chose two organizations close to their hearts: the Madelia American Legion Post 19 and the Madelia Health Foundation. Doug’s father was a veteran and former Legion commander, while his wife, Candy Fenske, served for many years as CEO of Madelia Health—creating deep personal connections to both causes.
Thanks to an enthusiastic turnout and strong volunteer support, the Madelia American Legion received $1,908 for Friday’s participation, and the Madelia Health Foundation received $1,413 for Saturday’s efforts. Jeff Ulmen, representing the Legion, expressed gratitude for the support and the meaningful connection between the Fenske family and Post 19.
“It’s a way to give back,” said Doug. “These are causes that matter to me—and honestly, it’s something we have to do. Supporting our community isn’t optional; it’s part of who we are.”
Allie Kiecker, Director of Foundation at Madelia Health, added:
“Our community is so lucky to have people who are willing to give up a couple hours of their time during the Park Days weekend to support Madelia Health. A special thanks to Lost Sanity Brewery for helping to ensure that the hospital and clinic remain at the heart of our community.”
