St. James Clinic Opens Feb. 1st
Madelia, Minn. – The St. James Clinic is fully staffed and will be opening for patients on February 1st. The Clinic is located at 501 1st Ave S., in St. James, and will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Patients can make appointments now by calling 507.942.6475. The caregivers that will be serving St. James-area residents include:
Certified Nurse Practitioner Lacey Groebner will be working exclusively at the St. James Clinic. Groebner grew up in Walnut Grove, Minn. and attended Rasmussen College in Mankato, earning her Associates degree in Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN). She worked as an LPN in the Tracy Clinic. She then earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Presentation College in Aberdeen, SD and worked for the Springfield Public Schools. She also worked as an RN at the Sleepy Eye Medical Center, Sanford – Westbrook, and DaVita – Hemodialysis in Redwood Falls. While working as an RN, Groebner earned a Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner from Harding University. Since receiving her master’s, she has worked as a COVID Test Supervisor in Mankato for Vault Health, and most recently in Wabasso for Tapestry Telehealth in long term care and addiction medicine. She is board-certified and cares for patients of all ages in her family medicine practice.
Dr. Luis Martinez will be splitting his time between clinics in Madelia and St. James. He grew up in Mexico and learned to speak English when he was 26. He completed his family medicine residency training in Southern Illinois University in Decatur, Ill., with additional emphasis and practice in urgent care and emergency settings. Most recently, Dr. Martinez has worked for Perham Health in Perham, Minn. He is Board Certified in Family Medicine by the American Academy of Family Physicians and has been a doctor for 33 years. He loves helping patients, especially the poor and the lonely. Dr. Martinez has also been working in the Madelia Health Emergency Department for several years and is fluent in English and Spanish.
Jennifer Anderson is a Registered Nurse (RN) who will also be working in the new clinic. She lives in St. James with her husband, David, and their children. She is a graduate of Pipestone Area Schools. She earned her Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from Ridgewater College in Willmar and then her Registered Nurse (RN) from Presentation College in Fairmont. She worked for Mankato Clinic for 15 years. In addition to her RN role, Jennifer will also be doing some on-site laboratory tests for patients.
Phlebotomist Samantha Garza will be working in the Laboratory at the St. James Clinic. She will also be assisting with Clinical Services. Samantha grew up in St. James, and graduated from Butterfield High School. She earned her certification in Phlebotomy from South Central College in Faribault. She lives in Butterfield with her fiancé and two daughters.
Maritza Lujan will be working in Patient Services at the St. James Clinic. Maritza is a St. James High School graduate and continues to live in St. James with her husband and two sons.
Madelia Health purchased the St. James Federal Savings and Loan building in downtown St. James early in 2023. The inside of the bank building has been fully remodeled with a new floorplan, paint, flooring, furniture and decorating. Outside a new lighted sign will be installed when the weather permits. An Open House is being planned for early April. Madelia Health is excited to bring these services to the City of St. James!
