Madelia Farmers Market
Madelia Health is again partnering with the Church of Christ, Madelia to host this year’s Farmers Market in the church’s parking lot. Their location, just off Main Street and Highway 60 at the corner of Eager Ave S.E. and 1st St. S.E., will be a convenient destination for Madelia Farmers Market shoppers.
This year the Madelia Farmers Market vendors will be accepting credit card payments, although cash is still preferred. Plans are underway to also take Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP) cards and we plant to participate in the Power of Produce (POP) program. Opening day for the Madelia Farmers Market will be on Wednesday, June 9th. The Farmers Market will be open every Wednesday from 3:30 to 6 p.m. through the fall. Farmers markets offer fresh-picked, seasonal produce from the farmers who grow it.
Locally grown products are picked fresh, brought straight to the market and sold by the growers themselves. The food at a farmer’s market is healthier and tastes better! Canned and baked goods are also sold at the market.
If you are interested in selling your produce or goods at the Madelia Farmers Market, call Madelia Health at 507.642.5225 for more details, or check out the Madelia Farmers Market Facebook page. There is no charge for vendors to participate, but a participation form must be filled out.
